Critical pitting temperature with VMP3 multi-channel potentiostat

The CPT100 module in combination with V10.41 of EC-Lab® allows the user to perform multi-channel CPT measurements (ASTM G150).

Bio-Logic Science Instruments has recently introduced a new version of the versatile EC-Lab software which performs the ASTM G150 method for the determination of Critical Pitting Temperature.

Critical pitting temperature (CPT) is the lowest temperature on the surface of the test sample at which stable propagating pitting occurs under the conditions described in ASTM G150 “Standard Test Method for Electrochemical Critical Pitting Temperature Testing of Stainless Steels”.

The temperature of the cell is controlled through the EC-Lab software using a thermostatic bath and a temperature sensor probe placed in the measurement cell.  Using the VMP3 Multi-channel system multiple cells can be controlled and monitored automatically from the control computer running the EC-Lab software.
